Artist Statement: I was on a birding trip with the Pioneer birding club over near Barton Dam. This was the first place we went, while waiting for other people to show up, a small lake with cattails on one side and trees on the other. I named the one Turning Yellow because the trees are turning yellow.
Artist Statement: This was a view of the lake from the shore where we were looking for birds at Barton Dam. I named one tree slope because the trees reminded me of a mountain slope in the way they got taller. I named the other Blue Skies because despite it being to foggy to be blue, after editing the picture it brought the very pale blue out of the sky.
Artist Statement: This was also at Barton Dam, just a little ways down from the actual Dam. I named one Trees on Lake because even though it's not a lake, it's a river, it looks like it could be a lake in the photo. The other is called Tree Line because the tree tops line up. I would have named Tree Slope as Tree Line but I already had Tree Line.
Artist Statement: This was on the top of a path next to Barton Pond, facing the trees on one side. We walked along the path for a long time and saw lots of birds, and it provided good landscape photography opportunities. I named one Grass Hill because you would have to go down a steep grassy hill to get to the little stream and small grass hill at the bottom.
Artist Statement: These are the only pictures I didn't take at Barton Dam. I was waiting in line for shaved ice at the Homecoming Parade and noticed how a lot of the leaves were green with red tips, and fell in love with them. For Green Leaves I brought out the vibrancy in the picture and then turned the tree black and white while leaving the leaves green to bring emphasis to it. For Flaming Tips I wanted to use just one leaf and focus on the red tips.
